VEXING!…opening night
The moment finally came. The ladies arrived, our muses, our raison de etre… after a 3 hour delay at LAX!!! After some freshening up and a quick trip to the 7-11 for snacks (delicacies that included Bubulubu, Monchiz and Principe cookies), we hit the opening with guns blazing. Antonio Villaraigosa was present to give tours to interested visitors (hum-heh-huh… it’s…). And he confirmed the rumors – he did go to high school with the cats from Asco (somebody tape him to a wall!). Unfortunately, there were definitely some fuchi faces and snide comments about the show. But you know what? We did it for the KIDS, so whatevers! And they came in droves. We had so many great conversations with young Guadalajara artists and punketeros, and they were very excited to meet Alice, Teresa, Yolanda and the rest of our entourage. There was a definite shortage of champagne (or anything else) since it was obviously reserved for the wing-tip shoe club of Guadalajara. So Alice had to amuse herself by asking all passersby to touch her “panocha.” Just watch the video after you put the kids to bed.
